I LOVE IT! I find you have posted up the blessing to start the day and we close with a party Saturday night over on seeingM. JOY JOY JOY at completing the connections in the loop with such loveliness. (Your party frock is fab Ms M… gorgeous gorgeous gorgeous). -x.M
John O’Donohue’s masterful use of language and his lilting Irish speech patterns seem to cast a spell toward the entrance into sacred space, doesn’t it seem? Much love to you Laurie!
Amazing! How did you come across this clip? We used to read and study John O’Donohue and were saddened to learn that he passed away so early in his life.
I just stumbled upon O’Donohue a few weeks ago when I was writing a blog post: https://lifeasimprov.com/2013/08/26/going-it-alone-with-others/. His words stopped me in my tracks – such clarity and truth! I am so taken with him and look forward to reading more of his writing – Yes, so sad, his early death. Do you recommend a good book of his to start?
I really liked ‘Anam Cara: A Book of Celtic Wisdom’ and ‘To Bless the Space Between Us: A Book of Blessings’. I was able to find these at our local Barnes & Noble. Don’t ask me why, but they decided to stock some of his books also in the ‘New Age’ section. So you may want to check there if you don’t find any under ‘Christianity’.
I happen to be reading his beautiful Anam Cara at the moment, and another friend shared one of his lectures on video with me. Now this lovely clip, thank you 🙂 what serendipity!
What a lovely overlapping sync; his wisdom is so beautifully wafting through the air to at least 5 people I know right now! I paged through his book, “To Bless the Space Between Us,” while my daughter was getting some books the other day. I get the sense I would like to savor his words with space in between each encounter. I have had your “Blinded by the Familiar” open for 2 days – I want some stillness to absorb your writing as well – intense time of Fall classes!

Perfect blessed finish! (and might I say – your dress and do are to die for:) X!
I have longed for this real sacredness and reverence for a long time. This is beautiful.
Love –
Laurie

Isn’t it amazing how we sometimes seem to tune into the same ‘radio station’ all at the same time? 🙂
Hope you enjoy my post when you get the space you read it 🙂
