Burn This.

19 Dec

Is there anything more important than remembering?

no.

Sometimes in the presence of grace, memories of egoic responses are a movie I watch about me as someone else from a distance.

Last night after two days of intense looking at the cold, harsh truth through one lens (Where does one turn for help with teenage angst that won’t offer Zoloft as a solution?), I couldn’t help but “zoom out.” (Phrase borrowed from a teacher sublime, btw, Neilkramer.com…for another post!)

Still, here I am.   I am walking through the grocery, smiling, while the circumstances wouldn’t warrant that response 🙂

I fall in love with a cold lemon and the way it fits in my palm.

A man with a froggy voice wishes me well; we share love through our eyes and I pass it on to the woman behind the plant counter which takes her by surprise!

All the while, I don’t remember my story.  I seem to let all unfold as it will – in this grace.  This grace will become a constant – is the constant, though there is still forgetting.

Burning up seems a sort of tragedy in one way, but these fires are gifts sent to me for just that purpose.

Just this and to realize that lemons are very sexy 😉

Amazing interwoven thread of connection from a wise and loving sol.

Going with the flow, even in midst of turbulence…

    • marga t. December 19, 2012 at 6:45 pm #

Yes! The flow goes deeper and deeper, much more than I imagined 20, 10, even 1 year ago.

Great story. Thank you for sharing. Sometimes it pays to stop and smell the lemons.

Thank you! Sometimes I’m sure I am mighty strange in the produce section 🙂

You ask, Why do you cry
    with such sweetness all around?

I weep as I make the honey,
wearing the shirt of the bee,
and I refuse to share this suffering.

    I play the sky’s harp.
I curl around my treasure like a snake.

You say, What is this I business?
Friend, I’ve been a long time away from that.

What you see here is your own reflection.
I am still raw, and at the same time
well-cooked, and burnt to a crisp.

No one can tell if I’m laughing
    or weeping. I wonder myself.
How can I be separated and yet in union?

–With love on this pre-eve of something day from M and Rumi 🙂

Oh yeah, and I almost forgot… when it gets close to completely unbearable and I really need it, I will blast this and slam dance around my house. I am pretty sure my cat laughs with me as he maneuvers out of the way.

Who says sour can’t taste good, too?

      Burn baby burn.

Check out Marga’s Life as Improv blog, she really brings it home with this post feat. Mooji, simply sharing his knowing to help you remember, compassionately, why we are all here in the first place. Nice post!

Mooji is so divine and full of grace. his message like so many other wise ones is our reminder of how simple it can all be. This life is about honouring our truth… remember the source from which we came and shine it bright…. everything else is just a distraction for a good story we’ll be telling in our old age of how silly our ‘squirrels’ where. thanks for sharing… I needed this today!

    The good portion.

Thank you for reading – it is nice to see you here. I feel a bit thick because I am unsure what you mean by the good portion. I look forward to exploring your corner a bit more (enjoyed my peek)! Joyful flow to you! marga

Oh, I apologyse for my ethnic/religious assumption. : ( couldn’t think of a better more consice sum of what your story makes me feel.
Maybe you have a better one, besides of course your story. “The Good Portion is a phrase from the New Testament used again in speeches and novels and poems, obviously by a culture subscribing to the basice belife in the Bible.
The story is about two sisters. Jesus was staying at their house, so where all followers. One sister did all the house work. The other sister sat at his feet and listeened to him with all the friends. Mary, the one in the kitchen, complained to Jesus, that her sister was leaving her all the work. He replied to let her be. “She has chosen the good portion. It shall not be taken from her.” It’s a cool parable, I think.

        The good portion. : )
I guess it’s the stuff, the good stuff that you get by wanting, and making a choice, not by working for it.
So that story works for me becouse of the dynamic. The dynamic of your story is the same.
You make a choice be at the feet of Life listening, loving, noticing being happy with the small things, being filled. An amazing chice for happiness I think.
I’m thrilled by this abuility. Thank you for sharing it.
You know, the common belife is that I have to do stuff to get the stuff that will then provide me with that joy…. Sounds like you are not waiting around for that cycle. You go strait to seeing Nirvana in everything -as a choice.
Sometimes, I am still waiting around for money or someone elses love to bestow this bliss on me.
It’s an easy trap to falll in. I’m in and out. : D

Oh, very nice. Thank you for sharing this. I am familiar with Christian teachings (from a long time ago), but I never heard that phrase from that story. What a nice metaphor. I like the idea of being at the feet of life. But also, I concur with your In and Out; while we are still in body, that seems to be the journey. 🙂
Joyful flow to you today! xmarga
